Second last day
The whole time we have been here, it has been hot, humid and rained every day except for three. It seems to be 33 degrees every time we look at the temperature and humidity, around 70-90.
Emerald dove
We had a snack of these little cakes that we had seen being baked in the cultural village - bahulu
Then went next door for a sticky-beak. When Pop was here, he lived in this house.
While doing up the blog from the day before, Heidi thought about looking up someone whom we had been reminded of when reading about Australia's involvement in the war with assisting Sarawak. Alex Hoffie raised Linda and Bill's house in the early eighties. In a previous life, he was a member of the Z force. He wasn't in the 9th division that was in Malaysia, though. Linda found this about him in the Australian War Memorial. He served on the MV Krait for some of the time.
There was a huge storm the thunder at one point sounded like it struck right beside the house it was so loud. The rain in the video, though, makes it sound less impactful.
After a storm, we ventured out for a drive and some dinner
The summer shopping mall and the Chicken Rice Shop. Wilbur, when he is hungr,y usually says 1 of three things - Chicken Rice, mumum or noodles
Dudu is getting more and more comfortable with us here.
Our last night, and there were more treats for us!
Pomfret
Passionfruit Tuak
Layer Cake
