Jungle Walk
Up early to capture the 'cooler' part of the day for our hike through the jungle, the mountains were in a gorgeous mist/low clouds as we drove towards our destination.
All Trails Map showing where we drove
Bengoh Dam
View of the lake from the car park
The first of the steep climbs of the day, down to the boat
A boat ride took us to the start of the hike
The trail started as it continued ... with steep climbs, bamboo bridges and Bamboo Steps
The jungle changed as we climbed, and even though it was very hot and quite difficult, it was well worth it with the gorgeous scenery
This was the longest bridge - 10 metres long
Curtain falls - as it is not the wet season apparently (even though it has rained every day that we have been here, at some point in the day - usually the evening), these falls were not as wide as usual
Susung Falls - and our turn around point
Jurassic Park
Stopping for a rest and a taste of salted egg fish skin chips.
Then heading back down
We stopped for a well-earned swim at Pe'an Falls
View of the lake on the way down
Lunch was waiting for us when we arrived back at the landing
Jungle food - Rice in Banana leaf, Ferns and Bamboo shoots
All trails showing the boat ride then walk ... note the elevation when we started walking
We finished the day off relaxing back at our home away from home in Seratau Kampong

What a fabulous walk. Bridges looked interesting
ReplyDeleteYes it was a fabulous walk
ReplyDeletehard work in the heat and definitely hard work balancing on the bridges but the whole thing definitely well worth it. Although quite exhausted the next day
