Smooth check-in and security and a cheeky shot on our way through mandatory duty-free transit.


After eating breakfast, we went searching for a comfy seat. Linda did what she is best at and asked if she could sit in the assistance seating area. The staff obliged, and when it came time to board, they offered for us to also go in at the same time as those requiring assistance! Heidi forgot to request a special meal, and they even found one for her.




Shortly after takeoff we found the free wifi and sent snaps back home real time!

      It was drinking time by then I am sure ;) BTW I have just added a couple of photos to this that I have now taken off my camera (was too difficult and tired when we were at Singapore airport.

 The whole time we have been here, it has been hot, humid and rained every day except for three. It seems to be 33 degrees every time we look at the temperature and humidity, around 70-90.  After another chilled morning, we head off into Kuching after Ann's grandmother's duties. Drove past the Borneo Convention Centre... And another impressive roundabout  Fort Margherita Note the emblem above the door The Brooke family crest and motto, "While I breathe, I hope" Inside had very well laid out displays and information on the Brooke family and their involvement in the modern history of Sarawak and the way that they looked after the interests of the indigenous people of Sarawak. James Brooke's intentions were noble and were honoured through the family as each 'White Rajah' took up their position.  Interesting title! Cassandra came to visit this afternoon, and Wilbur was very excited to spend time with her Lucas then cooked us a yummy Kue Tiau dish Ann had bought us some lemang - sticky rice so we also tried some of that Ann came back with some yummy fries with salted egg mayonnaise We were then able to give Cassandra her gifts We then took the chance to recreate a photo Linda had of herself when she was 42 Then... and now ... We chilled out for the afternoon, catching up with each other and the blog, etc The weather for the afternoon was a bit patchy We visited Lucas's sister Rosalind and her daughters Irene and Anna-Maria Sape' that Lucas's Dad Uchau Dilung used to play - he took the large one to play in many countries including the Sydney Opera House Gawai is a harvest festival that lasts a month, and we were blessed to be in the Kampung when the closing ceremony was being held.
