Rest, visiting Catherine and shopping

Another relaxing start to the day. We then headed over to Catherine's place to collect her and take her shopping.


Bianca printed and framed a picture of our family and we hung it on the wall amongst her other pictures.



We went via the bank to see if the Annuity had gone in, but it hadn't. Catherine bought us some Lemang.


And Bianca bought us some Ice-cream with palm sugar - yummo


We then went to Aeon as it has an indoor playground and Wilbur has been asking to go to the playground ever since we got here.


First to choose what sweet cold drink to have with our meal


Then to choose what to put into our soup

And lastly grocery shopping


The centre had pictures of cats everywhere - even the toilets





Took quite a while to get home due to the police stopping/slowing the traffic

    Is Heidi going through a self checkout at the grocery shopping? I loved you could choose what you put in your soup.

      Yes they had a self check out and it accepted her card to pay. A lot of places that we have been we have had to pay cash and we ended up having to get more money out of a machine because we were running out of cash. We assumed we could use our cards more often. That shopping centre there was very much more Westernised than where we have shopped previously.

 The whole time we have been here, it has been hot, humid and rained every day except for three. It seems to be 33 degrees every time we look at the temperature and humidity, around 70-90.  After another chilled morning, we head off into Kuching after Ann's grandmother's duties. Drove past the Borneo Convention Centre... And another impressive roundabout  Fort Margherita Note the emblem above the door The Brooke family crest and motto, "While I breathe, I hope" Inside had very well laid out displays and information on the Brooke family and their involvement in the modern history of Sarawak and the way that they looked after the interests of the indigenous people of Sarawak. Cassandra came to visit this afternoon, and Wilbur was very excited to spend time with her Lucas then cooked us a yummy Kue Tiau dish Ann had bought us some lemang - sticky rice so we also tried some of that Ann came back with some yummy fries with salted egg mayonnaise We were then able to give Cassandra her gifts We then took the chance to recreate a photo Linda had of herself when she was 42 Then... and now ...
